Paper Kites Studio is an award-winning landscape architecture practice based in Dallas, Texas. Founded by landscape architect Christa McCall in 2012, the studio explores the relationship between ecology, architecture, and human experience.

Our work is shaped by a careful study of site, spatial sequence, and the relationship between landscape and architecture. We use material, topography, and living systems to create landscapes that are grounded in place and evolve over time. Regional ecology and native materials inform the work, not as an aesthetic formula, but as part of a broader response to context.

Paper Kites Studio is a principal-led practice that values close collaboration with architects, designers, makers, and specialists. We believe design continues through construction. Our engagement in the field allows us to respond to material, site, and living systems as landscapes take shape, carrying design intent from the initial idea through realization.

Within the studio, we value inquiry, observation, and continuous learning. The field, nursery, and studio are all part of our design process, reinforcing a culture in which technical knowledge and direct experience strengthen design thinking.
